Wedding Tips: 5 Things You Shouldn’t Skimp On

By Lapo

It’s no secret that weddings are expensive. This means that you might want to cut corners if you don’t have a large budget. It’s alright to try to cut back on expenses in certain areas but use these wedding tips so that you understand that you should never try to skimp on these areas of your wedding.

The Food

You may not realize how important it is to provide a tasty meal with plenty of food for the wedding reception. If you go for smaller portions of food, light snacks and limited beverages, your guests may not feel much like celebrating if they are hungry.

Although you don’t have to be extravagant and feed your guests truffles and other gourmet food items, there is plenty of affordable foods and snacks that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

Wedding Photographer

This is one of the most important days of your life and capturing it is essential. You want to be sure that you have enough in your budget to hire a professional photographer so that you have those memories to look back on forever. You will forever regret it if you try to save money by hiring the cheapest photographer in town.

There are special moments of a wedding that need to be caught on camera. The wedding ceremony, the first kiss, cutting the cake, the wedding dance and the throwing of the garter are some of the most special moments that need to be captured.

A professional will know how to use the lighting to get the best quality picture. A pro will also have good equipment so that you can be assured that the pictures will turn out great.

For more fun, place some disposable cameras on each table and encourage everyone to take some pictures. It will be fun going through all the photos as you see your wedding through the eyes of others.

Good Music

Music creates the mood for the wedding reception and bad music will leave a bad impression with your guests and can make your reception boring. Just hooking up some speakers to an ipod with a playlist won’t really be good enough. A great DJ will play songs appropriate for the moment and will get people up, dancing and having a good time.

The Right Venue

The reception is what most people remember about a wedding so finding the right place to hold this celebration of your marriage is one of the most important aspects of your wedding. If you hold a rustic style wedding, you could have the reception in your backyard if it’s large enough to accommodate your guests. But if you have an elegant wedding, it’s going to cost you for a beautiful reception hall.

Makeup and Hair

You know you can’t skimp on a good photographer so this means that everyone in the wedding party needs to look their very best. Having everyone do their own hair and makeup might not get you the look you want.

By hiring a professional hair stylist and makeup artist, you can be assured that every member of your wedding party is going to complement the color scheme and style of your wedding.

It’s alright to look for ways to save when planning your wedding. These wedding tips can assure that you have a wedding day that you can look back and remember with a smile. Knowing the most important things to invest your money in on your wedding day will make sure your day is as perfect as it can be.
