Wedding Tips That Might Help You Save Money

By Lapo

Weddings can be times of extreme joy, not only for the couple involved, but for their family and friends. By following our tips, you will be able to create a memorable wedding that will bring you many happy moments of reflection throughout your life.

Make use of a family member’s or friend’s property for your venue. If someone you know has a nice backyard or a large farm, this can save a lot of money. Your only cost will be hiring someone who can come in before the wedding to set up and stay after to clean.

You could get help from someone else who is attending the wedding. They could help you carry your gear. They may be able to help you as you gather the family for a group shot.

TIP! One way you can cut hundreds of dollars from your wedding budget is by purchasing your wedding gown online. However, make sure you do this early enough that there is time to make any needed alteration to the gown.

If you invite people to an exotic destination wedding, they will likely want to stay for part of your honeymoon time as well, since they are already there. Hotels tend to give discounts when guests stay for a longer period of time. Your guests will have a memorable trip as well.

Don’t make your guests wait while you take all of your photos. Have pictures of the couple and groomsmen in advance. Also, pictures of the couple with their parents can be taken in advance; this reduces the waiting time for guests coming to the reception.

If you are hosting a destination wedding, your guests may appreciate receiving a basket of vacation goodies in their room on their arrival. Useful things that you may include are local attraction pamphlets, a hat, sunglasses, tourist map, and a disposable camera. It would be nice to also include a guide to local restaurants to make it easy for them to eat.

TIP! Choosing your spouse is obviously the biggest decision you will make. This lifelong decision should not be rushed.

Have a mid-afternoon wedding reception. Three or four o’clock is ideal. You can cut down on bar costs when you have a reception during the day, when people tend to drink less. Post-lunch receptions usually cost less, too. The money saved here can be used elsewhere.

Place your colorful wedding cake on a swatch of fabric that coordinates with the cake. A pretty tablecloth made of textured fabric, velvet, shiny satin or a lace that matches the wedding dress are all nice choices.

Having a friend or relative become ordained online can allow them to officiate your wedding. This makes the wedding a bit more personal, and also means you don’t have to pay the fee for a justice of the peace. Check your local laws to ensure that this does allow you to have a legally binding marital union, some locations need you to use an official ordained in a church.

TIP! If you’re terrified at the thought of spending a fortune on a wedding cake loaded with calories, talk to local bakeries about something with a smaller portion size. There are boutiques that will bake fresh cupcakes with very few calories specifically for your event, and deliver them.

Silk flowers are an attractive alternative to expensive floral arrangements at a wedding. This not only saves you money, but it also ensures that there isn’t a given time when you need to start collecting these flowers and they will stay fresh forever.

If you do not plan to serve your guests dinner at the reception site, consider foregoing multiple tables in favor of rented furniture. Chaises, comfortable sectional pieces, and lounges can encourage more guest interaction. Comfortable and inviting chairs allow your guests to feel welcome and relaxed, which creates a nice atmosphere at your wedding.

If you are planning on having your wedding outdoors, make sure you have a plan B just in case the weather turns against you. Rent some tents, or choose a venue with indoor shelter in addition to its outdoor setting. Set up planks to prevent your guests from getting mud or dirt on their shoes.

TIP! Brides who have sensitive skin can have a stress free wedding day by using skincare products that will give a glowing look without causing hives, irritation, or a breakout. Look for special treatments that can help to brighten and soothe your skin.

Make sure that you take others into consideration when making travel arrangements. Remember that some of your guests may plan their vacations around your wedding, so make sure they have plenty of advance notice. Try to send out save-the-date cards no less than eight months ahead so that your guests can make the necessary plans.

You want a skilled photographer for your wedding pictures who is going to do more than just get the shot. You want them to create long-lasting memories. During the interview, ask them to tell you about their vision. You need to question them concerning how they handle the wedding experience and flow of events. It is imperative that you understand their personal style and how it works with your plans for the day.

When planning your wedding, decide if you would like any children to attend. You can spare yourself a lot of aggravation and money if you don’t invite children. But, there may be many folks who will be unable or unwilling to attend without their kids.

TIP! Make sure your venue has enough space for dancing. It can be a horrible experience to feel crammed while everyone around you is trying to dance; move chairs and tables out of the way to give everyone some extra breathing space.

Without the proper planning, it is all too easy for a wedding to become a comedy of errors. Use the helpful tips here, and your wedding planning will be much easier.
