What Is The Average Cost Of Wedding Flowers?

By Lapo

Regardless of the type of wedding ceremony that is being considered, there are many expenses that arise, regardless of how frugal you try to be. Whether it’s a small, close-knit wedding or a large gathering where every family member and friend is invited, there are some costs that simply cannot be avoided.

how much are wedding flowers

One of those expenses is going to flowers and it’s not something that anyone wants to skimp on because of the aesthetic it creates. However, there are things that you can do that will affect how much they will cost.

How Much Are Wedding Flowers In Your Area?

Each locality will be different, so you need to see what the average cost of wedding flowers is in your area. Much of this will depend on the season and if there is a florist or greenhouse close to your area.

If you have a few shops in your area, the competition will keep the average cost down. However, if you live in an area where there is only one or two floral shops, you may have to pay more.

Set Your Budget

Only you know what you can afford and if you want to go all out and order hundreds of roses, you will definitely be paying more. If you choose instead to order flowers that are in-season, this will save you some money.

To save even more, you can make your own bouquets and arrangements if you are talented enough or if you have a friend that knows how and is willing to do it for you. You will only have to pay for the fresh flowers instead of the arrangements. Just be sure that you understand when to order them so they stay fresh for your wedding day.

You could even go for some fake flower arrangements for certain parts of the ceremony. Many brides go for the fake flowers for their bouquets and for the bridesmaids and go all out for the fresh-flower bouquets to placed around the church for the ceremony. It’s all a personal preference.

How Much Are Wedding Flowers On Average?

According to Thumbtack, the average cost of wedding flowers is between $900 and $1500. Of course, this can vary greatly from one area to another. It’s best to put between 8{b4352d2577417eca18b0f3cbf4d55ecdf5185b1cb36f62c0f770a9ce37a9c08c} to 10{b4352d2577417eca18b0f3cbf4d55ecdf5185b1cb36f62c0f770a9ce37a9c08c} of your total budget towards buying your flowers.

The cost depends on the season and what flowers you are going to need. The most common flowers needed are for bouquets, corsages, alter flowers, centerpieces, and special arrangements.

By knowing in advance what flowers you want for the ceremony and for each person participating in the wedding, as well as what you need for the reception venue, you can get a better estimate of the total expense. Be sure that you order flowers that will be in season so that you won’t have to pay as much.

Do some shopping around so you get the best deal for your money. Be sure that the florist you choose has plenty of good reviews and recommendations. You need a florist that is dependable and helps to make your special day even more beautiful.
